Right click on your IoT device and select to monitor.
Next jump in to the simulator and run it again.
And voila! In your output you’ll find your very own simulator send information into your Azure IoT Hub.
As you can see it’s the same temperature.
Done and done! Now go out and build some IoT devices!
Let’s download and configure the extension for IoT Tools.
Search for IOT in VSCode extensions and install.
In the Explorer select and connect to your IoT hub.
Now in the next post we’ll rerun the simulator and read our temperature!
In this tutorial we will run the Raspberry Pi Simulator and connect it to our very own Azure IoT hub. Following this guide.
Go here to launch the simulator.
Next go into the Azure portal and get your Device connection key.
After you’ve launched the page go in and replace the value with your connectionstring and press run.
Voila! Your messages are being sent to your IoT hub.
In the next post we’ll set up Visual Studio Code to read the messages!
With our new Hub we will now register an IoT Device.
In the Explorers section click on Devices and New.
Next we’ll run the Raspberrry simulator!
Now we’ll jump into Azure Portal and create ourselves an Azure IoT Hub that later will manage our Raspberry IoT Device. You can read more here.
In Azure search and create an IoT hub. Remember that the IoT Hub name is public so create something unique and also you should select a IP filter.
There we go! Now we got our IoT Hub.
In the next post we’ll create our Client in Azure.
